The Foundation was established in 2007 to provide support to the Kilimanjaro English School.
The Kilimanjaro English School is located at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, in the African village of Moshi, Tanzania. The school was founded by Edward Lazaro, who is best known as "Teacher." Teacher founded the School in 1997 to help orphans and others in need. Today the School serves over 300 children ages 3 to 8 years old. A primary goal of the School is to put young children on a pathway of opportunity and hope by providing resources to help them grow strong in mind, body and spirit.
In 2008, Teacher and the Foundation opened the current facilities with the very generous support of many donors and students from North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois.
